What have been your thoughts on organizations such as Abundant SF? Why create Maximum New York when you could build and focus solely on the abundance agenda?

Ofc this was 2 years ago so you're thinking may have shifted :)

Great question--I'd put it like this:

- MNY does something different than that org, and others like it. MNY is fundamentally a school, and is addressing a different problem (people do not know how things work, they need a place to learn).

- MNY is part of the abundance coalition, and I treat teaching people as a way to advance abundant politics. Not because I demand that people take certain views (in class I often challenge people who want to do things like build more housing, to see if they hold the view with technical rigor or not), but because politics works better when more people understand government and abide by MNY's four rules of etiquette (politics is good, find the good time, extend charity, be concrete).
